Eucalyptus angophoroides

''Eucalyptus angophoroides'', known as the apple-topped box is a common eucalyptus tree of the coastal areas of southern New South Wales and Victoria.
Occurring on moist fertile soils from near Goulburn on the tablelands and Batemans Bay on the coast. Then south to the Strzelecki Ranges in the Gippsland region in far south eastern Australia.
== Description ==

It grows to40 metres with a rough flaky, fibrous bark.
Leaves are narrow-lanceolate or lanceolate in shape, around 10 to 20 cm long, 1.5 to 2.5 cm wide. Adult leaves alternate on the stem. Dull green or almost shiny, paler below the leaf. Juvenile leaves round and opposite on the stem.
Gumnuts hemispherical or conical in shape. 4 to 5 mm long, 6 to 7 mm in diameter. The disc is flat or slightly raised. The valves exerted, (sharp wooden points emerging out of the top of the gumnut).
